Known for its beautiful waterfront and an abundance of museums from maritime to modern art, San Diego has that relaxed surfer vibe.

1.  Balboa Park

One of the most visited urban parks in the US, Balboa Park lives up to the hype.

With over 1,200 acres of beautiful plants to Spanish inspired architecture to explore, consider putting Balboa on your itinerary more than once.

Balboa is a favorite spot with visitors and locals alike.

The park is also home to some of the best museums in San Diego such as the Natural History Museum and the San Diego Museum of Art.

2.  Gaslamp Quarter

Want an awesome night out? Then head to the Gaslamp Quarter.

This historic part of town is home to some of the best restaurants and shops in the city.

It also has the best nightlife with clubs, bars, and live music, making it one of the most fun things to do in San Diego after dark.

Don’t forget to pause for a second and look up at the buildings – you’ll see some of the best architecture in the city.

3.  Coronado Beach

Located on the southern side of Coronado Island, Silver Strand State Beach is a favorite for folks with RVs and Campers but it’s also great for day trips to the beach.

And it’s no wonder – the view from the beach is magnificent. Even if you’re not planning to set up for the night, the beach is a delight.

Grab your boogie board and hit the surf.

Or simply enjoy a walk on the beach with your toes in the soft sand. You’re likely to find some treasures like seashells or even sand dollars.

7.  Torrey Pines

As the site of the first Spanish settlement in California, buildings and homes are a feast for the eyes.

9.  Mission Beach

Mission Beach is one of the most popular beaches in San Diego.

11.  Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park is a wonderful way to unwind and cool off right in downtown San Diego.
