Mumsy’s Garden in Calgary Alberta Canada

We’re enjoying springtime weather in Austin Texas. The wildflowers blooming along the Austin roadways always get me thinking about my mom, affectionately known as Mumsy, who happens to love gardening. She loves getting her hands in the dirt. She loves picking out new plants to try out in her garden. She even managed to get bluebonnets to bloom in Calgary one year!

Every year when mom visited me in Austin we always made time to visit the Austin botanical gardens and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Mumsy has a beautiful garden in Calgary, where certain flowers such as primroses, bloom before the snow has melted away. She’s already planning what she’ll plant as soon as the weather warms up and she will be digging in the dirt soon.

When I visit we walk through the pathways of her flower gardens – the entire front yard and most of the back as well. Mumsy points out new varieties of flowers or casually rattles of the names of each type of flower by it’s Latin name.

I love spending time in my mom’s garden!

Every summer I visit my family in Calgary Alberta and I enjoy all the glorious colors of Mumsy’s garden. I hope you enjoy them too!
