Marfa and Big Bend are NOT weekend trips - they're 9+ hours away from Austin.

Bruce, Thanks for your comment. Which route are you driving from Austin to Marfa/Big Bend? It's about 7 hours for me for either ATX to Big Bend or ATX to Marfa, with 1 pit stop for gas/bathroom break. But I get your point, it is a long weekend getaway. Leave Austin on Friday and come back on Monday, feeling a whole new vibe after a weekend in West Texas. The Texas high desert is absolutely amazing! Cheers, Susan
